Our field service technician, Deneige Arguin, RVT (or one of our veterinarians), when their schedule allows, will come to your home, gently care for your pet, and coordinate cremation with our trusted partner, Agape Pet Cremation, so you don’t have to carry this alone.

Your pet is gently placed on a soft, blanket-lined stretcher for the trip to the vehicle. Our team steps outside so you and your family can have privacy for any final goodbyes.

We personally transport your pet to Agape Pet Cremation and handle the paperwork and coordination, private or communal cremation, your choice.
Grief support at every visit: we leave resources with you, including contact information for our in-house grief support specialist, whether or not you need them right away.

Deneige Arguin, RVT, Field Service & Comfort Care Technician
Deneige is a Registered Veterinary Technician who has lived and worked in Charlotte since 2018. With a background spanning general practice, emergency care, ICU, and surgery, she's spent her career caring for animals at every stage of life, including the hardest one.
She's Fear Free Certified and known for her calm, steady presence with families in crisis, with a particular soft spot for senior and special-needs pets. Outside of work, she's usually outdoors with her own five rescue dogs. When Deneige arrives at your door, you're getting someone who has done this with genuine care, not just competence.

My pet passed away at home, what should I do first?
Take the time you need with your pet, then call us at (704) 420-8880 or request an appointment online. There's no need to rush. Our Client Care Team will work with you to schedule pickup as soon as our team's availability allows.
How quickly can someone come to my home in Charlotte?
In many cases, we're able to schedule a same-day or next-day pickup, though the exact timing depends on our team's schedule that day. Appointments are available seven days a week between 9am and 6pm. Call as soon as you're ready, and we'll give you our earliest available time.
What if my pet passes away overnight or on a weekend?
Our Client Care Team is available 8am-6pm on weekdays and 8am-4pm on weekends to schedule your visit. If your pet has passed outside those hours, it's okay for the body to rest at home in a cool space until we can reach you in the morning. Call as soon as our team is available, and we'll get you scheduled right away.
What happens to my pet's body after pickup?
Our team gently transports your pet directly to Agape Pet Cremation, our trusted local partner. You'll choose between private cremation (ashes returned to you) or communal cremation before we leave your home, and we handle all coordination and paperwork from there.
Can I be present when your team arrives, and can I say goodbye?
Absolutely. Our team member will always give you and your family privacy and as much time as you need for final goodbyes before your pet is gently placed for transport.
Do I need to already have an appointment scheduled with Caring Pathways?
No. This service is available whether or not you've worked with us before, and even if a veterinarian was already on their way for a scheduled visit but your pet passed just before arrival.
Can I choose burial instead of cremation?
Yes. If you'd prefer to bury your pet at home, our team can talk you through local regulations to check with your county and HOA, and offer guidance on preparing a burial site.
