Kara on Dr. Alex Schaeffer

"I want to thank Dr. Peoples and all the staff at Caring Pathways for making our sweet Nala's transition so gentle and without anxiety. Seeing her comfort gave me such peace. From the time I submitted my inquiry, the staff gave me personal and prompt attention, answering all my questions with great sensitivity and care."

Liza on Dr. Peoples

"I cannot express how grateful my husband and I are for Caring Pathways. Dr. Jess Anderson was incredibly caring and compassionate during the most difficult thing we all have to do as pet owners. Saying goodbye to our sweet Bernie boy was so peaceful and gentle, I cannot say thank you enough."

Sara on Dr. Jess Anderson

"Dr. Alex Schaeffer was amazing in helping us understand everything before we had to say goodbye to our dear Puddin. I couldn't have hoped for a better experience during such a tough time. She was calm, gentle, truly caring, and understanding. She treated us and our sweet dog with so much respect and kindness."

Common Questions

Questions Families Often Ask

A few things families usually want to know before reaching out.

How do I know when it's time to say goodbye?

You know your pet best, and that's usually the hardest part. Our Pathway to Care Assessment can help you think it through, and our team is always available to talk it over with you directly.

Will my pet be in any pain?

Our goal is to make your pet’s final moments as peaceful and comfortable as possible. We use gentle medications and a carefully guided process designed to minimize discomfort and help your pet relax in the familiarity of home, surrounded by the people they love.

Should my children be there?

That's a personal decision, and we support whatever feels right for your family. Many families find it helps children understand and grieve. Our veterinarian will explain things at an age-appropriate level and answer their questions along the way.

What about our other pets?

We generally recommend letting a housemate pet be present, it's calm and quiet, and it helps them understand rather than searching for a companion afterward. We'll always follow your family's comfort level here too.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes, we work with two financing partners that offer flexible payment options for end-of-life care.

What happens to my pet afterward?

We'll walk you through cremation, burial, and memorial keepsake options, including paw prints and fur clippings, so you can choose what feels right for honoring your pet.
