Tribute for Lola Marie Langston

Our dearest Lola Marie,

Our hearts are shattered in losing you, but we are so grateful for the 17 years of your life and the love you gave us.

You were first Mom and Dad’s girl—whom you lovingly called Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw—their most loyal and devoted companion. You showed them unconditional love every day and stayed by Maw-Maw’s side until the very end, just as she always needed you to.

You were the best companion to your Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw, and the sweetest girl. You gave so much love not only to them, but to all of our children—and even the grandbabies. Your gentle spirit touched everyone. Thank you for always taking care of and loving my babies, who are now grown.

After Maw-Maw passed, you came to live with us, and we cherished every single moment with you. You truly lived a life full of love, and I hope you always knew just how deeply you were loved in return. I hope you’re proud of me and all the things I tried to do for you.

She passed peacefully on April 20, 2026, surrounded by those who loved her, as we sang to her and held her close.

I know you are happy now, reunited with your Maw-Maw, Paw-Paw, and your Benji.

Your best buddy, Kyra Jane, will miss you so much. You always cared for her as if she were your own. You became Rick’s girl, and he will miss your little growls at Duke. Momma Tina will miss your sweet nose snuggles more than words can say.

Run free now, sweet girl—no more pain. Enjoy all the beauty heaven has to offer.

We will meet you there 🌈

We love you forever and will never forget you. Tell Zelda we love and miss her too.

Always loved,
Tina, Rick, Alexandria, Natalie, Mitchell, Emrie, Calum, Duke, and your Kyra Jane.

We are grateful to the staff at South Rowan Animal Hospital in China Grove and to Dr. Noel. We are also deeply thankful to Dr. Peoples with Caring Pathways for the patience, compassion, and love she showed us during such a difficult time.
