On what was truly one of the worst days I’ve had to go through, I can’t even express how much I appreciate Dr. Jess and the incredibly soft-spoken, reassuring, compassionate care she showed me. Within moments, Hunter was comfortable with her. Her gentleness and patience—aside from her bedside manner—I couldn’t have asked for anyone better. She was like a guardian angel and brought us through the process without a flinch.
She gave me as much time as I needed and made sure I knew everything she would be doing and what would happen. Hunter remained as peaceful and content as could be, right on my chest, while Dr. Jess did everything she needed to do. When it was time to take Hunter from my arms, she picked him up like he was royalty, so carefully placed him, wrapped him, and tucked his little things in with him, then allowed me to carry him out.
Her professionalism and grace will stay with me always, and I know Hunter would thank you—Ryan too. Thank you to everyone at Caring Pathways. From start to finish, you made a difficult situation as good as it could possibly be. I feel like everything was meant to be the way it was, and the day ended with a rainbow in North Carolina and one in New York over my son’s house.
