Dr. Mandy Houck grew up in a military family, living all over the United States and Europe. Her extended family now lives in Wisconsin, Arizona, and Missouri, which she travels to often. She graduated from Colorado State University in 1998 with a degree in Animal Sciences and went on to attend the University of Missouri for veterinary school. She graduated from Mizzou in 2003 and made her way back to Colorado, where she calls ‘home’. Dr. Mandy has been practicing as a small animal veterinarian for the past 18 years in private practice in the Denver area.
Dr. Mandy has a true soft spot for the senior patient and for animals in that they cannot advocate for themselves. She has always found peace and fulfillment in talking with pet owners about their pet’s comfort and quality of life and what that truly means to their beloved furry family member. She believes a peaceful death is the most selfless decision an owner can make for their pet and finds it an extremely honorable service to be able to provide that for the pet and their guardian. She believes it to be an incredible privilege to be a part of these moments with families in working with Caring Pathways.
In her free time, Dr. Mandy enjoys spending time with her family, skiing, hiking, camping, and trying new restaurants. She lives in Westminster with her husband, Nicholas, and their 4 children. They bring her so much joy and fulfillment (and craziness!). She also shares her home with 3 dogs, 2 cats, and one hedgehog: Bo (great dane mix), Little Dog (terrier mix), Maverick (golden retriever), Beast (gray tabby cat), Fiona (gray tabby cat), and Hedgie, the hedgehog.
